60,000 customers accounting for a population of approx 7.00 lakhs in Jamshedpur, trust us enough to drink water from their taps – the only city in India where consumers are assured of this quality.
Jamshedpur’s citizens enjoy 8 hours of water supply each day, the highest level of water availability in India. We have also created District Metered Areas where 24X7 water supply is assured. Our team manages a 550 kilometre water distribution and a 500 kilometre waste water system in the city.
We have been abstracting water from natural sources for over a century now without impacting the sustainability of the water sources. We manage the entire water cycle from abstraction and transmission of water, water purification, distribution, waste water collection and disposal.

Plans and Achievements for 24x7 District Metered Areas
The water supplied to our customers carries the guarantee of meeting BIS 10500-1991 and WHO norms because of the stringent operational standards followed by us. We continuously monitor process water and drinking water quality both at our distribution points and at the consumer’s tap. We voluntarily undertake water quality tests at public places such as schools of Jamshedpur.
By keeping our underground assets under constant and close surveillance, we secure them from possible contaminants and pollutants. The integrity of our systems also reduce loss of water or Non Revenue Water losses, improving the efficiency of our operations.

With India’s rural and urban areas equally impacted by water scarcity, it is critical that water utilities account for distribution losses or Non Revenue Water. Reduction of Non Revenue Water is a priority at JUSCO. We believe every kilolitre conserved can fulfill the need of those deprived of good qaulity water, enhancing the reach and efficiency of our service.

Continuous supply of safe drinking water is a pre-requisite for high-end domestic consumer. JUSCO’s water experts create District Metered Areas (DMA) within distribution systems to serve those willing to receive such a service.
A DMA is based on the principle of measuring and monitoring total flows within a hydraulically discrete pre-defined area, which is segregated from the rest of the network. It has a metered source of water with hydraulic flows, used to monitor pressure levels and eliminate leakages, to ensure optimum supply. Customer complaints on water pressure and scarcity are reduced to nil once DMAs are implemented. |
