(First district in the country where two utilities have been allowed to build parallel network for distribution of power)
The Seraikela-Kharsawan district of Jharkhand is contiguous to JUSCO’s service area of Jamshedpur. With the Electricity Act opening up power distribution to the private sector, JUSCO applied for and was granted a distribution licence for the area in 2006. It began distribution of power in October 2007, after having established seven new sub-stations of 90 MW capacity each.
Infrastructure established:
132 kv double circuit Transmission Line.
132/33 kv Main Grid Substation.
33 kv Transmission Lines & 33/11 kv substation.
11 kv and below distribution network.
Approximately 45 X 2 circuit kilometers.
2X56 MVA Power Transformers.
6 substations (10 to 20 MVA each).
40 x 2 ckt kilometers & 40 no.s of 11/0.433 Volt Transformers. |
